Described as a Helles lager. Hell is the German adjective for "light" whilst Helles is a noun used in the sense "of a light one" This refers to the colour only as is is designed for the warm summer evenings.

When poured this is a clear light golden amber beer with an excellent white had and good carbonation providing a light pleasant sweet malt aroma and a note of lemon and excellent lacing as imbibed. Th beer has a light body and is highly drinkable with a smooth, refreshing and fairly crisp finish. This is a well balanced, easy session beer with a great iconic label that creates a sense of anticipation before you pop the top.

These reviews are shaped by our personal tastes and so you should know that both Maca and myself don't find Belgium styled beer particularly appetising and Maca is not a fan of dark beers. Also we both think ginger beers are fucked.

It is important to look close at the beers you are buying. Many beers that you think are imported may be brewed under license and these beers are nowhere near as good as there imported brothers, so always look for the 'Imported' logo. When shopping it's well worth the small amount extra you'll pay.

You may of heard someone say 'why pour a beer? Its already in a glass' well those people need to understand is that to get full flavour out of your beer, aroma is key and the only way to truly appreciate the aroma is to pour it. So everyone pour it if you can and tell any wanker that says that to 'fuck off'.

If you've had look at this blog and are thinking... gee it would be nice to try some of these beers that i've seen here but i really can't afford it, well we think you need to get your priorities in order, however here's a top tip from Maca and myself. We brew our everyday drink at a local Brew By You, a chain of microbreweries that allow you to use their equipment and their recipes to brew excellent quality beer for only half the regular price. So the money we save we put into buying new untried beers. This is a great option for someone who wants to make there wallet a bit heavier, get involved in the brewing process or reduce your intake of preservatives This is good for your health but it also reduces the effects of a hangover.
