Mac's Gold All Malt Lager

Country - New Zealand

Percentage - 3.8%

Brewing Company - Lion Ltd

The beer has an excellent ring pull, the beer smoking as expected upon opening. When poured this is a clear gold colour beer with a white head that dissipates quickly to almost nothing! No real distinctive nose is apparent but perhaps a hint of barley malt. On tasting the beer has a light body and a watery mouth feel. There is some bitterness at the end of the palate. Whilst the beer can be described as a clean and crisp this beer is in essence a boring poorly balanced macro-lager. New Zealand has better beers on offer. The beer has the staying power of an Aboriginal at a job interview patricually the carbonation and head!

Verdict - Palatable
